Winter has finally moved on here in Halifax NS, Canada. In a period of 5 Weeks we saw over 200 Cm of snow. This rivaled the historic weather event dubbed “White Juan” named after a hurricane the previous season named Juan. The hurricane was underestimated and shut down the city and essential services for weeks. Much like hurricane Juan, White Juan the 2nd also left the city crippled. More than 10 Thousand truckloads of snow had to be transported out of the city.
This is a snap of the sidewalk outside my place of employ. As you can see the snow is piled up to the traffic lights. It is over now and the temperature is rising. Goodbye snow, Hello dust lol. The city used three times the amount of gravel on the roads this winter than any other average winter since White Juan. Now instead of fresh green grass peeking through all you see is crushed rock & litter.
